If you were unable to make it to our last rally at the Billups’ plantation it was a wonderful event. With 24 coaches, the weather was fantastic, food was outlandish and the company divine. I want to thank Bob, Linda & Ken from all the Pelicans for allowing us to use the grounds to have our yearly fall rally.
For you folks that don’t remember the fun we use to have putting up the screen room and borrowed tents and never knowing if the weather condition would them to make it day to day – They now have a beautiful metal shed to use. It’s just perfect.
The entertainment was enjoyed by all. There were two groups. Friday night Randy Turner, and Saturday was “Cool Change.“ Bob Billups’ brother was the drummer. We also enjoyed the gun range and playing corn hole. Along with the bonfire we were served hot cider, hot chocolate and s’mores thanks to Andy & Ellyn Meshel. There was dinner on Saturday night. It was a feast for pilots and copilots. Much work was put in by our host Linda Johnson, plus George & Ro Edwards were our grilling folks. The menu consisted of chicken, ribs, roast beef, corn, green beans, coleslaw, roasted potatoes, and lots of deserts. Those brownies loaded with nuts were to die for.
There was a group who went out to Dinner Thursday night at the Southern Hops Brewing Co. Wonderful beer’s brewed on site. We also did our annual trip to the Schoolhouse Restaurant on Friday night for some good southern cooking.
I sure hope that everyone enjoyed the event, we will back here again next year.
Oh, just one other thing – when any of you go out to play golf don’t let this happen to you. Don next time you might want to wear a life jacket.
Hope to see you all in December at our Christmas Party at the Charleston KOA in Ladson, SC.
